Slightly late to the blog, but how could I not write about one of my first year highlights of 2019! What an incredible year it was! Last November, the stunning, five star Grantley Hall was the perfect venue for an exclusive evening with British wedding gown designer, Jenny Packham, showcasing her 2020 Bridal Collection named “It Started With A Kiss”. The evening was hosted by and in partnership with Hayley Hoyle, from The Bridal Collection Lounge – Harrogate, and WOW what an evening it was.
Oh my days, I was lucky to work with some of the best suppliers within the business in creating a scene of beauty. The team included the super talented, and my wonderful friend Amy at Ambience Venue Styling for North Yorkshire, the truly lovely Charlotte at Love Lights the Way, from the beautiful and talented Victoria Farr & Olivia Kew to the absolute girl squad that is the The Bridal Collection Lounge. It was such an honour to be asked to create the floral designs and backdrop to this utterly, dream worthy event.
The dresses were exquisite, and with Jenny Packham in attendance and with media partners, Unveiled & Brides Up North, Editor Julia Braime lead an in-depth live interview with the British designer, Jenny Packham alongside Hayley Hoyle, Director and founder of Bridal Collection Lounge & Harrogate Wedding Lounge.
Meeting with Amy and Hayley, we did a walk through of Grantley Hall, in particular the Grantley Suite, to where the evening would be hosted. Early on it was agreed to keep the design simple, stripping back the colour palette to just whites, creams and greens, and creating quite simply a beautiful sea of blooms. The design for the florals were kept very natural and led very much by the garden. It was so important to me that the floral design kept within the theme of the collection, ensuring the florals created the elegance of the collection, along with the sheer romance and arrestingly beautiful glamour which the dresses inspired.
Keeping the colours soft and simple, with the use of only whites, creams and greens, creating a striking, elegant, yet timeless simple look. Working with dancing delphiniums, the ruffles of ranunculus, and the detail of the dahlias, whilst matching this with foliage which just charms, from Fern, to the smell of eucalyptus, the structure of pistache and our signature Ivy. Flooded with the most delicate, yet impactful candle light, creating a scene that screamed romance and created an intimate setting for those attending. The main focal point was created downstairs which was a meadow of flowers, embracing you into its fold. With Charlotte from Love Lights the Way, kindly creating a bespoke commissioned sign just for the event, which was the name of the collection, “ it started with a kiss”, which became the destination backdrop for people to have their picture taken.
I can say no more, other than it was simply what dreams are made of, and a memory I will never forget! I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Thank you to the fabulous team I was lucky enough to work with on this wonderful evening.
