I can remember where my relationship with flowers began. It was high summer, and the heady smell of sweet peas filled the air. My sister and I were playing in my grandparent’s garden, their pride and joy.
The seven-year-old me was drawn to the bloomy fullness of the pink hydrangea, the soft ruffled peony and the fragrant sweet pea. From that moment, flowers and I were inseparable.
I am in awe of the trusty little flower, a gift from mother nature and the role it so willingly and unknowingly undertakes in a lifetime. The flower is there at those precious times through our lives; to celebrate your birth, as an expression of love on your first date, to comfort you in difficult times and to accompany you on the most important journey you’ll ever take, the walk down the aisle. I act as a natural link to connect the flower with its keeper.
